Since the beginning of time, people have been telling stories to make sense of the world around them. Many of those stories are based in science, with evidence dating back 5,000 years to ancient Chinese, Babylonian, Greek, and Egyptian cultures. Fast forward to modern times and in the last few decades alone we’ve witnessed exponential growth, with advances in immunology, vaccines, genomics, oncology, synthetic biology, neuroscience, nanotechnology, the earth’s microbiome communities, and so much more. These are exciting times for medicine and humankind.

Today’s innovative scientific accomplishments, medical breakthroughs, and cutting-edge inventions are shared globally with diverse audiences through detailed illustrations, captivating cinematic animations, and interactive experiences. Mechanism of Action (MOA) videos show the biochemical interaction by which a drug is able to produce its pharmacological effect during treatment. Mechanism of Disease (MOD) videos, which focus on how healthy bodies function, highlight the molecular and cellular processes that trigger specific pathologies, like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. These audio and visual animations translate scientific and technical concepts into stunning, impactful stories using pharma voice over to fully engage viewers of all types.

Pharmaceutical Medical Narrators are Experts in the Field

Medical narrators help tell these stories, adding detail and nuance to the visuals thereby increasing an audience’s comprehension of the material.

With complicated text and often tricky terminology, this is an area that requires a level of intelligence that is unique to the voice over genre of medical narration. Debbie is an expert in the field and also coaches other voiceover talents in this area. She knows the workflow process from ideation to completion, speaks the lingo, and has developed long-term relationships with many key players in the industry.

Through script, storyboard, animatic, animation, music, and voiceover, these highly crafted tools help physicians, pharmacists, and regulatory investigators understand disease and drug interactions in the body. Scientific studies, clinical trial results, data, and processes can be simplified and explained more clearly to healthcare professionals, patients, investors, and shareholders who need tailor-made information about research goals, products, and health care benefits. The tone of the narrations that accompany these varied projects depends on the overall mission of the message– be it cutting edge, inspiring, hopeful, factual– and, just as important, the intended audience.

When hiring voice over talent, you want the confidence that their standards are as high as yours. Be sure they:

  • Have experience in medical narration
  • Take direction well
  • Ask smart questions
  • Come prepared to the session
  • Understand the lingo, lexicon & process
  • Enjoy tongue-twisting terminology
  • Help solve problems like sound design and language localization

Debbie is Fluent in Pharma Marketing Narration

Pharmaceutical marketing trains medical professionals on the features, benefits, and risks of new drugs; and reaches pharma sales teams, doctors, and patients via eLearning modules, sales presentations, trade shows, explainer videos, and MOA animations. Whether aimed to grab the attention of physicians or consumers themselves, pharmaceutical marketing utilizes both digital and offline strategies to introduce new drugs and treatment options. Articulating this important information in an approachable, clear, and engaging narration is what a medical voice over expert is trained to do so that the key takeaways are crystal clear.
